Bobby Weir joins Phish For Historic Second Set.

Bobby Weir joins Phish For Historic Second Set in Nashville

First of all I want to thank Greg for streaming as much of the magic as he could. Bobby singing "Miss You” does not get much more surreal for a website started ten years ago named Phish and the Dead. The first set was above average but who cares!
We reported before the show that Bobby joined Phish for soundcheck and have the video/Sound of the “Walkin Blues” from soundcheck. The second set started innocently enough with a straight forward”Julius” then a funky “Fuego”. Then things got evil with a rare “My Friend, My Friend”. Then like a knight on a white horse Bobby Weir joined Trey’s band for just the second time ever on this  night of a thousand stars. Oddly enough Bobby portion of the show, began with a touch of Phish’s humor by finishing a joke started when he played “One More Saturday Night” on Sunday with his band. On the webcast Sunday Bobby referred to playing the Sunday song soon. Delivered and perfect! Samson then went into a jammed out “Twist” that saw Bobby jamming with Vermont’s Finest. It was a beautiful sight to see and perfection to my ears. The real treat of the night was when Bobby took lead vocal on the new Phish song"Miss you”. It was special and must have gave Trey goosebumps having Bobby singing such a personal song. Then GD51 continued with a “West L.A. Fadeaway” (oddly enough one of two songs he played last time he sat in with Phish) and a smoking “Playing in the Band” to finish the dream. Encore? Mighty Quinn=perfect night!
