Phish Played a Solid Show and an Incredible Piper in Jacksonville, Florida

Phish Played a Solid Show and an Incredible Piper in Jacksonville, Florida.

This Sunday Show was certainly entertaining but it was a mixed bag with suspect song placement throughout the show.  The first set started with a compelling"Kill Devil Falls". That was followed with a nice combo of "Moma Dance">"Back On that Train". The set lost its momentum when we witnessed the second "Petrichor" in three shows. The verdict is still not in on this tune for me. It reminds me of T.T.E, probably because they were both written for orchestras. Then "Bouncing Around the Room" was the meat in the closing Mike's song sandwich. The "Weekapaug Groove" was funky but the damage was done with another questionable song in the middle of the timeless duo.
The second set had stretches of brilliance. They opened the second half with "Crosseyed and Painless" that melted perfectly into "Steam". The highlight of the night and the entire weekend happened with a monsterous"Piper". It was the only song they really let loose and the jam was spectacular. "Wingsuit" and a ill placed "Sparkle" killed the magic they had built. It was a treat to hear "Wading in the Velvet sea" and "Curtis Loew" but the show lacked coisiveness as a whole.
