 Launch MTK Engineering

Click on MTK Settings

Swipe to connectivity tab and click CDS Information

Click Radio information

Select the sim you want to repair, change. Phone 1 for sim 1 and phone 2 for sim 2

Tap after the AT+ and press letter 'e' on keyboard

Select EMGR=1,7,"" if you are changing for sim 1

Select EMGR=1,10,"" if you are changing for sim 2

Between the quotation marks, enter the imei number eg. AT+EMGR=1,7,"12345678901234"

Now press SEND AT COMMAND

A small notification will appear at the bottom showing >> AT command is sent <<

If the notification shows >> This command is not allowed in UserBuild <<

Add a space between the AT+ & E eg. AT+ EMGR=1,7,"12345678901234" 

press SEND AT COMMAND.

MTN Nigeria wins 2.6 GHz auction, assures on broadband infrastructure

MTN Pays FG N18.96bn For Broadband Aquisition, Set to Roll Out 4G LTE in Lagos & Abuja

After a transparent and competitive auction process, the Nigerian telecoms regulatory authority, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) , Wednesday formally declared MTN Nigeria as the winner of the 2.6GHz spectrum auction.

Accordingly, the auction process had afforded both local and foreign operators the opportunity to enjoy equal and unfettered rights of participation in line with the NCC’s desire for transparency and ensuring a level playing field for all.

It would be recalled that NCC had earlier confirmed that ‎MTN’s bid was in full compliance with the relevant provisions of the Information Memorandum (IM) for the exercise in which MTN emerged as sole approved bidder.

The NCC has described this spectrum as a significant trigger for a broadband revolution that will unlock benefits such as greater coverage, access, affordability and innovation, with the customer at the centre of these gains.

Speaking on the new development, MTN Nigeria Chief Executive Officer, Ferdi Moolman said that, “After complying with all the requirements for the 2.6GHz auction and making the licence payment of N18.96 billion to the NCC, MTN has been issued a letter of award. With the 2.6 GHz band, we expect to roll out and provide the full range of LTE services to Nigerians, empowering Nigeria with the latest mobile broadband technology.”

According to him, “We are very pleased with this development at this time, which is a further step in the right direction for Nigeria. Indeed, MTN is fully aligned and supports the NCC’s objective to deliver broadband services to present and future generations of subscribers, in line with the National Broadband Plan of 2013.”

The 2.6GHz acquisition, he said has set the stage for the roll-out of 4G LTE broadband internet services across the country, starting in the major cities of Lagos and Abuja.

He added “This license acquisition further demonstrates MTN’s abiding faith in the future of Nigeria and the resilience of the Nigerian economy. MTN continues to believe in Nigeria and we have expressed this belief in the level of our investment, which currently stands at approximately USD 15 billion and counting. We strongly believe that there is need for significant levels of investment in broadband infrastructure and services to truly launch Nigeria into the information age. We are honoured to be the arrowhead.

“In addition, we are also delighted that the matter of the fine imposed by the NCC was amicably settled in the interest of all parties. I am pleased to announce that the first payment of N30 billion in the terms of settlement has already been disbursed to the NCC. In addition to the earlier payment of N50 billion which we paid in good faith and without prejudice on February 24, this means we have now paid a total of N80 billion.

“Our subscribers, especially those in clustered areas such as the major cities, can expect distinct improvements in browsing speed, quality and experience. This means that they will have fast access to high definition video streaming, as well as conferencing and calling, lag-free music streaming, and improved data uploads and downloads”.

As such, MTN’s success in this auction is a big boost to its plan to deliver global mobile broadband and LTE 4G services to over 60 million customers in Nigeria.

MTN also plans to use FDD networks in addition to its existing WIMAX over TDD networks, as this provides for greater consistency with existing 2G and 3G deployments.

Although Nigeria is one of 28 African countries that currently offer 4G/LTE services, the rate of penetration is restricted to a few major cities.

Meanwhile, studies by McKinsey have shown that a 10% increase in broadband penetration is associated with a 1.4% increase in GDP growth in developing markets.

Merryland Festival Preview

Earlier this year, after almost 20 installments, All Good Presents announced the retirement of its flagship All Good Music Festival, but not without the promise of a new adventure to be announced. It was not long before they revealed to us the magical  celebration of music to be hosted at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. We now know that event to be the highly anticipated Merryland Festival, set to take place in just over a week on July 9 & 10, 2016.

Many of you know Merriweather Post Pavilion very well as a regular and favorite stop on Grateful Dead and Phish tours, as well as last year’s Dear Jerry celebration and numerous other nationally renowned artists. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, LedZeppelin and The Who are just a few among the many voices that still seem to echo throughout the woods.

As usual, All Good Presents has put together an absolutely stellar lineup for this event. Saturday features two headlining sets from the String Cheese Incident, while Sunday’s headlining slot will be split between Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminalsand Grace Potter. Saturday’s lineup also includes Lotus, Stephen Marley, Yonder Mountain String Band, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Protoje, TAUK and ELM. Sunday’s lineup fills out with Greensky Bluegrass, Shakey Graves, Nahko & Medicine For The People, Langhorne Slim & The Law, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Turkuaz and Cris Jacobs Band. A little something for everyone in there, representing bluegrass, reggae, rock, fusion, funk and more!

All Good Presents did not stop there, however. On Friday, July 8, two Kick-Off concerts will be taking place: Papadosiow/ELM at Ram’s Head Live! (Baltimore) and Soul Rebels w/People’s Blues of Richmond at 9:30 Club (Washington, DC). Festival ticket holders have the option to add on one of these Kick-Off concerts to get their feet moving before the main festival. On top of that, Ram’s Head Live! will also be hosting a Late-Night Concert on Saturday, July 9, hosted by Kung Fu and featuring a number of special guests.

But let’s be honest, there are tons of great festivals out there with great lineups. What really makes an All Good Presents event special, however, are the people. I was fortunate to attend last year’s All Good Festival, which was taking place at a brand new site, a farm located in the rolling hills of West Virginia. Immediately upon entering the festival grounds, I felt welcomed by all those around me. I felt safe and secure at all times, never worrying about my belongings in the campsite. In the stage areas, everyone moved and grooved as one, united under the power of music. I even got to meet the owner of the farm, and he told me that the crowd was much tamer than he had ever expected. “Everyone’s so nice,” he said. “The whole town had concerns about the lack of sufficient security, but from what I’ve seen, there is really no need.” I have no doubt that this community vibe will flood the gates of Merriweather Post Pavilion next weekend.

Also, I am very impressed with All Good Presents’ desire to include local representation in the lineup. Baltimore will be well represented at Merryland, which features hometown favorites such as Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, ELM and Cris Jacobs Band. I hope that those of you who are travelling from outside the region will take the time to check all of these guys out. There is a wealth of talent here in the Baltimore-DC area, and those three bands are sure to represent us strongly.

I hate cell phones at concerts just as much as the next guy that hates them at a movie. I also realize certain artist have tried everything for the audience not to use them. But Patently Apple were first to point out "Apple"was granted approval for a patent on complicated technology that could and would disable a phone's camera and video capabilities in certain circumstances. Apple plans on a small sensor on or near the stage that would admit infrared signals that would lock your phone's settings. 

    I hate cell phones at concerts, hell I hate them in almost every public setting. This new technology would force fans to live in the moment and could lead to more dancing. But I did not pay 800$ for my phone just for Apple to disable features when it's profitable. I think more concerts should try asking before the show. It works good at Dylan shows and movies in most neighborhoods. We will keep you updated to this potential youtube killer.

   Besides the mystical evenings with S.C.I there is a whole another beautiful side. It's in the music and it's in the painted fans these artist draw. Some of the acts like STS9 are regulars on the festival circuit and for good god damn reason. 

They have embraced the lineup change and are honestly in my opinion a better band now. We were lucky enough for an Axe the Cable" event and "STS9" did not leave a jaw in place. 

"Nahko and medicine for the people" is just one of many bands that blew my mind and had a blast on stage.

 "Those 4 are Future Rock" was a band that has been on my radar and was great watching them transform thousands others into being new fans. 

The main allure of "Electric Forest" is not one thing it's literally everything. See you next year, so I can have the best time of my life again.

String Cheese successfully hosted the most extraordinary party on the festival circuit once again. There are many reasons why this festival sells out immediately while other mainstays have been dropping faster than a teenager at a Phish show. Where the look tries to be over the top is a understatment, the grounds that hosts this coveted event is always a freak out waiting to happen. A night time stroll would make Timothy Leary blush as the grounds transform into a psychedelic  paradise with many rabbit holes. 

The main reason this is a festival that is on most music lovers bucket list is the host band "The String Cheese Incident" who always shine brightest in the carnivals they manifest. They also had the foresight to mix electronica bands, D.J.s and producers before it was the norm. The end result is a musical paradise where everyone respects and genuinely loves each other as well as the scene. 

This year kept the Vibe alive and managed to up the ante as every possible situation went off without a hitch. S.C.I certainly held up thier end of the bargain with three magical nights of music. Each night having guest as they honered Prince, David Bowie and the recently departed Bernie Worroll. But Electric Forest is more than Cheese as you will see in the next gallery.

Phish Blazes On at the MANN for the second night

Phish Blazes on at the MANN for the second night.

Phish played their little hearts out again at the MANN tonight. 

With a Wolfman's opener, they kicked things off. It was a good set with a nice long Mike's including "Horn" and "Farmhouse". They also played the nice, slow, funky version of "Llama" and a new song, "Waking Up Dead". Which I can totally relate to the title.

I just don't really have the heart to put into this review because the loss of Rob Wasserman has hit me especially hard. I met him at the Scaring the Children shows in SF and he was such a nice guy, in addition to him being a intuitive and amazing musician.

The second half had a Crosseyed & Painless" opener that led into a long jam that touched on a lot of different places before landing on a new song," Friends".  Then the unmistakable rumble of "Down with DIsease" led into a slow jam that turned into a funky "What's the Use" and then the set just took a dive. The "Meatstick"  and the "Line" which I like, but then came a song called "Tide Turns" and it led into "Backwards Down the Number Line"  the show won't be making any best of lists, in my opinion. The follow-up of "Dem Bones" was one of those weird Phish moments that you'd have to see. I remember my mom singing me that song as a child. That was a weird addition to the set. They definitely turned it around for the encore of "Dear Prudence" and "Harry Hood" but leaving i still feel the first night was the champion of the run. It would be great to see "Dear Prudence" make it into regular rotation and who knows, there's still a lot of tour left to put on the books.
