Spafford mesmerized the sold out Milkboy in Philly last night. Photos & Words; Ron Adelberg
Spafford, hailing from Phoenix, AZ, made their Philly debut last night at a sold out Milkboy. The four piece band is comprised of Brian Moss (Guitar), Jordan Fairless (Bass), Red Johnson (Keys), and Nick Tkacyk (Drums).
These guys go deep into exploratory funk and psychedelic rock jams with a tad of EDM thrown in for good measure. Their name has been painted everywhere on social media as of late, combined with their upcoming tour with Umphrey's McGee.
I had to go and see what all the fuss was about for myself. This was the first time I’ve seen them live after musically discovering them just last week (I know. What rock have I been hiding under?). To say, I left the heroic performance impressed would be an understatement. As I stated earlier, this was my first show, but it will certainly not be my last. I will say this, you can easily get lost inside their music. In fact, tonight at Asbury Park will be my second show. I am officially on the bus! Their sound is so fresh that it's just a matter of time before they ascend to the top of our competitive music scene.
This is the jam that got me out the door and down to Philly on a chilly Tuesday night. Check it! Spafford is playing The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park tonight.
