Phish Takes L.A With Well Crafted Sets and Tight Jams.

Phish Takes L.A With Well Crafted Sets and Tight Jams.

Time is running out on Phish Tour for this part of Summer and they threw down west coast style tonight at The Forum in L.A. The first sst got off with a dirty "Moma Dance" before melting into a spirited"Sample In A Jar".  Besides "Paul & Silas" the first set was standard. Well played but nothing to make any Top 10 list, although the "Blaze On" and closing "Antelope" were worth a re-listen

The second set got off to an awkward start with an "Axilla". Then the boys tried to light a match with "Fuego" and the fire spread as the jam took flight briefly before turning into a welcomed second set version of "Back on the Train". This beautiful piece of music melted into "Saw it Again" before a thunderous"Waves". After a welcomed "Scent of the Mule" they closed this perfect set with "Rock n Roll" into a fun"Y.E.M".
But they saved plenty of fun for the curtain call. A downright funky "Boogie On Reggae Woman" was followed by the "Bouncing Around the Room" before jamming out once more with"Gogli  Apparatus". It was a fitting song after all the shutouts at Bill Graham. It was nice to see a ticket stub in everyone's hand.
