A Movie About Jerry Garcia's Guitars Is In The Final Stages. "Six Strings of Separation" . Movie Trailer Here

A documentary film  is close to being released about Jerry Garcia's mystical guitars. From the trailer it seems they cover all angles. From the wood the guitar makers used,one of those pieces of wood coming from an old bed from an opium den to why Jerry left them to him in his will.

Have just plugged the Garcia family's Lieber 50th anniversary guitar into one of Jerry's old Mesa Boogie amps! The sound is divine! What a beautiful thing! Made by Doug Irwin's apprentice/ partner/successor, Tom Lieber.

Six Strings of Separation tells a story about music, instruments and the moments that connect us all.

In 1972 a young bass player named Tom Lieber set out from New York City to the Bay Area with the dream of building himself a bass like his hero Jack Cassidy played.  He never built that bass for himself. Instead he found himself a witness to one of the most important moments in rock’n roll history.
