8 Bit Civilizations Preview - Jaw dropping 8-bit demo remake of the classic CIV but on the C64!
For 25 years we've all been building empires to stand the test of time. Beginning on Amiga and PC in 1991, it's hard to believe we'd ever see the likes of this epic turn based 4X civ building game on anything less than 16 bits and at least a few hundred kilobytes of RAM. Teased early last year, the game has had a significant amount of work done since the early screenshots. Developer
Bomb Jack DX C64 - C64 classic overhauled is looking seriously good
Seeing as my brain hasn't completely shut down I can still remember in the late 80's on my Amstrad CPC 464 playing the brilliant Arcade port ' Bomb Jack '. It is a game that required you the player to high jump and float about getting rid of all the bombs on the screen before they are used to blow up historic places of interest, which is made more difficult by the enemies on screen. It was

OutRun CPC - An Amstrad CPC style remake of a hit racer gets a beta update
In 1986 Sega released one of the coolest racers of our time, it was none other than Out Run. An Arcade racer designed by Yu Suzuki, that was not only a commercial success but became one of the best selling games of its time with great graphics, fantastic music and fast paced track racing. It was just a shame however, the Amstrad CPC port was terrible with poor frame rates, colours and sound

Throughout the years there have been many game jams that have come and gone for gamers around the world to create a game specific to the theme. Wonder Boy Returns - Wonder Boy classic gets a cartoon makeover

Walker - Amiga blaster classic demo'd on the ZX Spectrum
Walker on the Amiga was an incredible action packed shooter by DMA Design/Psygnosis. It was released way back in 1993 and puts you and possibly a friend in control of a giant walker like machine, through multiple time periods blasting both man and vehicle to pieces with a very powerful gun. It was such a great game to play and to look at, that I was surprised to learn this week of a ZX port by

Well not quite, as this is "Fantasy World Daisy" by Steve Rennie (Grandad) ; a character change over from Fantasy World Dizzy, in which you play as Daisy instead of Dizzy and must rescue Dizzy from the evil King Troll instead of Daisy!
